"In Portugal there are 14 indigenous breeds of sheep, several of them are seriously threaten with extinction. The wool produced by these breeds presents extremely different characteristics to match the different purposes of production. Since the Retrosaria (haberdashery) "Rosa Pomar" opened its doors in 2008, it has tried to find and make it available to the public in a large yarn production using wool from Portuguese sheep, thus she has managed to value a natural and cultural heritage which was known very little before."
